 WHAT IS KRAV MAGA?
Krav Maga is the self-defense system of the Israeli Military, as well as a Martial Art that was developed for civilian use.
In the street, where there are no rules, an individual may be confronted by more than one attacker who may be using weapons. The techniques taught are for actual self-defense situations; there are no competitive tournaments or katas in Krav Maga.
Krav Maga is geared towards the average person, regardless of strength, size or fitness level. Students are taught a variety of defensive reactions for every possible attack situation, building upon a framework of usable techniques. Students are taught to utilize the responses that are appropriate to their capabilities. |
TO BEGIN TRAINING

First time participants should wear loose fitting pants
i.e. sweatpants and a T-shirt (no shorts or tank tops). |

 INSTRUCTOR BIO
Alicia Mandelkow began studying Krav Maga with Master Instructor Rhon Mizrachi and Katrina Reynolds, Dan 2, in 2004. She is a certified Krav Maga Instructor, having successfully completed an Instructor's course taught by Rhon Mizrachi. Alicia received her Brown Belt from Grandmaster Haim Zut during the 2008 KMF summer trip to Israel.
Currently she teaches Krav Maga at the 14th Street Y and privately to individuals and groups of varying ages. She also teaches at the Krav Maga Federation flagship school on 25th street, where she continues her training as well.
Alicia teaches all of the Women Seminars held at the 25th street location, a 2 hour intensive class focusing on specific Krav Maga material. A reservation for these seminars is needed.
Her other interests include motorcycling, parkour, rock climbing, trap shooting, and Shakespeare.

PLEASE NOTE
KMF schools are financially independent from each other. Membership at one location is good for that school only, although there is a discounted per class "drop-in" fee. All Krav Maga students are welcome to participate in any seminars or workshops held at the 25th Street location. |
